This 10 hour live online course will enable you to prepare the ground for undertaking monitoring and evaluation and analysing the results. Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation will help participants understand the key components for effective M&E in order to improve management performance and evidenced based decision making. The course explores how to establish the necessary framework for good M&E based on clarifying stakeholders, bringing the Logical Framework up to date, and generating a set of criteria against which to measure progress.
The course will introduce a series of data recording templates for monitoring progress and investigate the challenges of collecting baseline data. How to analyse quantitative and qualitative data and how to present the findings so that lessons can be learnt and good results can be mainstreamed and sustained will be addressed. By the end of the course participants will have gained the skills and experience to apply Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation in their work.
Participants
The course is aimed at managers and staff who are actively involved in M&E within their organisations. Participants will be able to meet, online, people from around the world who are also actively engaged in M&E and have the opportunity to work together and exchange experience and ideas. Participants will receive online tuition, technical support for using the online system, and a Toolkit.
How the course is delivered
The live online system works like a website, all participants need is a PC, speaker/headphone and a broadband connection. The course is delivered in five 2 hour online sessions spread over a five week period. Participants have the opportunity to follow up each session with relevant in-work exercises. Once participants complete an exercise they can send it to the trainer and she/he will respond with brief comments.
Certification
Participants who complete two or more of the five exercises will receive a Completion Certificate.
Cost
The cost for the five sessions is £200 (US$ 295) per terminal; any number of people can view the course but only one person from each terminal is eligible to receive a Completion Certificate (if they have completed a minimum of two exercises). For additional participants using the same terminal who would like to gain a Completion Certificate there will be an extra charge of £45 per person to cover the administration cost. For bookings of more than 3 terminals there is a 20% reduction in cost for each terminal. Payment is made by Bank transfer.
